The Auckland campus occupies four historic houses within beautiful Albert Park and another historic building in Freyberg Place. The Christchurch campus is located in an attractive historic building, close to Hagley Park. Both schools offer state-of-the-art Learning Centres, equipped with the latest technology and language learning software, well-stocked libraries as well as books and materials to help students achieve their goals.

School details

Average school enrolment per year is 270 students in Auckland and 80 students in Christchurch. The average age of students is 24 years. Applications are accepted all the year round. Courses last min. 2 weeks, and there is a maximum number of 12 students per class.
Full-time courses consist of 23 hours per week, 20 hours classroom lessons + minimum 3 hours guided independent study in the Learning Centre; part-time courses consist of 13 hours per week, 10 hours classroom lessons + minimum 3 hours guided independent study in the Learning Centre.

Types of courses:
General English, English for Business (EB), English for University (EU), Cambridge Exam Preparation, Courses for Teachers, Executive Course.
Includes one-to-one tuition and preparation for the TOEFL or TOEIC test. Work placement scheme, English language preparation and paid or unpaid work placements available.
Teachers use a communicative language teaching approach and a mix of published and teacher-created materials. There are 8 levels offered, from beginner to post-advanced (Cambridge CPE). Certificates available include NZQA registered, Cambridge ESOL Teaching Awards centre, English New Zealand, ISO 9001, IALC.
All teachers have a university degree and English language teaching qualification (usually Cambridge CELTA); more than 50% have a post-graduate degree and / or advanced English language teaching qualification (usually Cambridge DELTA).

NZ$405 per week (full-time), NZ$305 per week (part-time)

 

Lodging:

Homestay and self-catering (student residence) accommodation available; all accommodation arranged by Languages International´s accommodation department.
Services comprise free internet access via student computer network and wireless network as well as activities programs after lessons and during weekends.
